Layout launches QuarkXPress Arabic Edition for Windows

Beirut - February 28, 2002 - Layout Ltd announces the launch of QuarkXPress Arabic Edition for Windows, the Arabic language version of QuarkXPress.
QuarkXPress Arabic Edition for Windows brings seamless Arabic language support to the world's leading publishing software. QuarkXPress is the layout tool of choice for professional printers and publishers around the globe. QuarkXPress Arabic Edition adds features specifically designed for publishers who work in a mixed Arabic and English environment.
With bi-directional, dual-script publishing features, publishers can create documents in both languages.

Seamless integration of Arabic and English
QuarkXPress Arabic Edition for Windows is a fully localized version of QuarkXPress, with an Arabic user interface and a complete set of features for Arabic language publishing.
QuarkXPress Arabic Edition for Windows offers full support for laying out Arabic language text, including bi-directional text flow. Users can specify that document text flows either right-to-left or left-to-right and create paragraphs that flow in opposite directions, all with appropriate support for rulers, tabs, and indents.
The application also includes dual-script features to support Arabic and Roman script in the same document. Users can enter Arabic and English text in the same paragraph, column, or section simply by changing the text input mode using standard Windows keyboard layouts and fonts. Styles can be applied to both Arabic and Roman text, and user can check the spelling of Arabic, English, or mixed text simultaneously.
Availability
QuarkXPress Arabic Edition is available from Layout Ltd. for the International market and from Layout Middle East for the North African and Gulf market. Special upgrade pricing is available for users of QuarkXPress Passport and ArabicXT for Windows. Cross Platform upgrades are also available for Mac users who wish to switch to the PC Windows native format.
